CLC Top Performers
The Central Lakes Conference has singled out four Willmar Cardinals as Performers of the Week in their respective sport:
Football-offense: Austin Grove, senior WR - caught 12 passes for 150 yards.
Football-offense: Augustine Hahn, senior QB – 29 of 36 for 373 yards, 1 TD; 8 carries for 32 yards, 1 TD.
Girls cross country: Sophie Schmitz, sophomore, - runner-up at both Nike Heartland at Sioux Falls and the Rocori Invitational.
Volleyball-defense: Allie Roehl, senior libero - in one match she had 28 digs and a serve receive percent of 2.6.
West Central Minnesota Baseball Hall of Fame seeking 2015 nominations
The West Central Minnesota Baseball Hall of Fame is looking for nominations for its 2015 class. The HOF covers a 45-mile radius of Willmar which includes communities such as Glenwood, Montevideo, Redwood Falls and Dassel-Cokato. In order to be considered, nominees must fall within the 45-mile radius and be featured in one of the following categories: Professional, amateur or community involvement.
The Kandiyohi County Historical Society will begin accepting nominations immediately to be reviewed by the selection committee. If you wish to submit a nomination, a form has been created to submit potential candidates to the Historical Society. The 2015 inductions will be held on to-be determined date in January or February in conjunction with the Willmar Stingers Winter Barbeque event.
