Rob Baumgarn resigned as the head Ridgewater College football coach, Athletic Director Todd Thorstad announced Monday.
Baumgarn headed the football program for the previous nine seasons.
Thorstad stated that Baumgarn “is in line for a job that would not allow him to fulfill the obligations that coaching requires.”
Baumgarn is also the Willmar Middle School Athletic Director and part of the Willmar Community Education and Recreation staff.
The school has already started a search for a replacement as the first practice is Aug. 6. The first game of the season for the Warriors is Aug. 29 at home against Mesabi Range.
