The Insider: Sterner Setter of the Week

Ridgewater sophomore Kaitlyn Sterner was named the MCAC South’s Setter of the Week on Monday.
Sterner added 142 assists to her MCAC-leading season total (692) including 35 in a 3-0 win against M State-Fergus Falls. Sterner also had 36 digs, 11 aces and 10 kills. The sophomore from Dassel had nine aces in a 3-0 win against Northern Virginia.
WCER adult volleyball
Willmar Community Education and Recreation is taking registrations for fall adult volleyball leagues.
The deadline for co-rec and women’s teams is Oct. 23. The $265 league fee is due by that date. Co-rec teams play Monday evenings starting Nov. 2 and women’s teams play Thursday evenings starting Nov. 5.
Men’s teams play Tuesday evenings starting Dec. 1 with a Nov. 20 registration deadline and league fee of $215.

Boys soccer offense: David Gomez, Willmar - scored four goals and two assists in two wins (he has 19 goals and 12 assists this season).
Girls diving: Erica Schramm, Willmar - scored 237 points for first place against Alexandria.
Boys cross country: Mohamed Noor, Willmar - placed fourth at Alexandria meet to help team finish third.
