LITCHFIELD - The Willmar Cardinals will send three gymnasts to the Class A State Meet at the University of Minnesota’s Sport Pavilion. Kendell Hein and Stephanie Thompson each advance in all-around and Hayley Mottinger will go in vault. Thompson also qualified in the floor exercise and balance beam and Hein in the vault, where she and her teammate Mottinger tied for third.
Melrose, as expected, outdistanced the field with a score of 149.100. Willmar received the runner-up trophy at 139.850. New London-Spicer took third and Benson/KMS fourth.
