ELROSA — The New London-Spicer Twins captured the 2020 Elite 8 Tournament title on Sunday by beating the Watertown Red Devils 9-7 in the championship game.

Scott Rambow slugged a two-run homer for New London-Spicer. Mike Danielson went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored and Josh Soine was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Twins.

For Watertown, Ben Smith slugged a pair of two-run homers. His two-run homer in the top of the fifth broke a 4-4 tie.

In other games Sunday in the tournament, Tri City won the seventh-place game, beating the Cannon Falls Bears, 10-0.

In the consolation championship, the Fergus Falls Hurricanes knocked off the New Munich Silverstreaks, 10-4.

And in the third-place game, Elrosa beat Freeport 12-1.

Jackson Peter led the way, going 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI for the Saints, who got a complete-game pitching win from Will VanBeck. VanBecker tossed a three-hitter, striking out one and walking three in seven innings.
