SPICER — Austin VerSteeg tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout to lead the Starbuck Stars to a 9-0 victory over the New London-Spicer Twins on Friday night.

VerSteeg struck out eight and walked three for the Stars in the County Line League victory.

He was aided by Mike Kragenbring, who smacked a grand slam in Starbuck’s seven-run ninth inning.

Michael Gruber and Matt Gruber each had three hits for the Stars, who had 11 hits.

For New London-Spicer, Adam Schrader was 1-for-2 with two walks and Mike Danielson went 1-for-3.
