MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins announced Monday that they will replace Ron Gardenhire and his entire coaching staff.

Gardenhire managed the Twins for 13 seasons, compiling a record of 1068-1039 (.507), trailing only Tom Kelly on the franchise's all-time managerial wins list.

He was named American League manager of the year in 2010 and guided the Twins to six American League Central Division titles, including an ALCS appearance in 2002.

The entire coaching staff โ€“ Rick Anderson, Paul Molitor, Terry Steinbach, Tom Brunansky, Scott Ullger,Joe Vavra and Bobby Cuellar โ€“ is being let go, too, according to a Star Tribune report. All were operating on one-year contracts, and the Twins want the new manager to be able to select his own staff.

The Twins said they will begin immediately searching for a new manager, internally and externally. The coaching staff will be determined by the new manager in conjunction with general manager Terry Ryan.
