Valley Golf Club Championships

WILLMAR - Valley Golf Club had its club championships this past weekend with Josh Bernhagen claiming the Men’s title, Carol Jaspersen the Women’s title and Bill Iverson the Seniors title.

Bernhagen had a five-round (nine holes each) score of 190, one stroke less than Iverson. Dave Graves was third at 197.

Doug Bernhagen, Josh’s father, won a tie-breaker to win the Men’s President’s Flight over runner-up Dave Burns and third-place finisher Brock Magnuson.

Other Men’s Flight winners were Ken Stephens and Marlin Bahl.

Jaspersen’s 18-hole round of 87 was two shots better than Jenna Bernhagen. Pam Mayer came in third. Lorna Bahl was the First Flight winner.

Iverson 27-hole score of 111 bested Dave Helfinstine (114) and Graves (116) in Friday’s Seniors competition. Flight winners were Tom Stoffel, Bahl and Dave Zane.
