WILLMAR - The Willmar VFW baseball team came to life late to put BOLD away 11-1 on Tuesday night.

After BOLD jumped out to a 1-0 lead against starting pitcher Tanner Bauman in the top of the first inning, Post 1639 responded with two runs in the bottom half. The pitching trio of Bauman, Bryan Weidemann and Caleb Owens wouldn't need any more support on the night, but would get plenty regardless.

Willmar plated three runs in the fourth inning and then used a six-run sixth to end the game after five innings.

Post 1639 collected seven hits, but took advantage of 11 walks and two errors. Drey Dirksen went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while both Nate Spencer and Isaiah Riemersma each drove in two runs.

Willmar plays in the Blaine Tournament on June 23-25.
