WILLMAR -- The VFW Tournament at Willmar and Spicer got underway Friday evening with two games on Swansson Orange.
Willmar beat New London-Spicer II 15-5 while New London-Spicer I topped Paynesville 9-3.
The tournament continues today with four games at Green Lake Diamond in Spicer and two at Baker Field in Willmar.
The championship is set for 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Baker Field at Bill Taunton Stadium.
The 3rd annual 16U Central Minnesota Classic is co-sponsored by the Willmar/NLS VFW baseball programs.

The NLS II team was put together to fill out an eight-team bracket and included some Babe Ruth League players.
