EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings have begun their offseason sooner than they hoped.

The question now is whether Favre will be around when next season starts.

Players gathered at the practice facility today for the final team meeting in the aftermath of their devastating NFC championship game loss at New Orleans the night before.

Several Vikings said the overtime defeat hurt worse the day after.

Favre was not in the locker room when it was open to reporters. He said after Sunday's game that he would take time to talk over his future with his family before making a decision on whether to return for a 20th NFL season.

His teammates told him to take all the time he needs, but sounded as though they think he'll retire.
