NEW LONDON -- Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa came back from a 14-point loss in the fourth game to beat New London-Spicer 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 11-25, 15-13 in a non-conference volleyball match between the area's only state-ranked teams Monday.
It was the first loss of the season for the Wildcats (9-1), who are ranked 10th in Class AA.
The Jaguars (13-2), ranked 10th in Class A, held a 2-1 lead entering the fourth game, but were held to just 11 points as the Wildcats came back to force a fifth game.
Rachel Anderson and Maggie Gruber provided most of the power for BBE. Anderson recorded 11 kills and six ace blocks and Gruber added 11 more kills.
Five of six servers had at least one ace for the Jaguars. Raeann Sorenson helped the defensive with 16 digs. Brittany Roelike and Julie Hieserich added 11 each.

Karli Wendlandt led the Wildcats with 12 kills and added four ace blocks and 14 digs. Cassie Ziemer contributed 10 kills, four ace blocks and 14 digs, and Taylor Thompsen had nine kills and a team-high 19 digs.
