Volleyball: Cards tear up Eagles

ST. CLOUD -- Cami Sletta had 11 kills, four ace blocks and seven service aces and Willmar had little trouble with St. Cloud Apollo in a 3-0 volleyball sweep Thursday.

ST. CLOUD - Cami Sletta had 11 kills, four ace blocks and seven service aces and Willmar had little trouble with St. Cloud Apollo in a 3-0 volleyball sweep Thursday.

The Cardinals won 25-15, 25-8, 25-19.

Esther Grussing had 31 assists and Heidi Sellmann finished with six ace blocks as Willmar won its 11th-straight match. During that streak, the Cardinals have dropped just one set.

They look to keep things rolling Tuesday, when they host Sartell-St. Stephen at 7 p.m.

Wildcat hitters benefited from Beuning's work, as four different players recorded double digit kills. Brennah Bergh and Erin Tebben each led with 16 kills.

The Wildcats will look to ride Thursday night's success into the last two matches of the regular season. On Tuesday they'll head to Watertown to take on Watertown-Mayer.

BBE featured a pair of setters as well as Tessa Halvorson and Karsee Kampsen each reached double digit set assists. Halvorson led with 25 and Kampsen recorded 19.
