PAYNESVILLE -- Paynesville held a 2-0 lead against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, let it slip away and then captured the match in the fifth game in a 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 15-13 non-conference volleyball win Monday.
The Bulldogs (2-15) had bigger serves and more presence at the next in the first two games, but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Paynesville finished with 19 ace serves, led by Kenzie Meagher with six and McKenzie Quade with five. Caitlyn Gottwald pounded down 12 kills, Taylor Haag powered the offense with 31 set assists and Keely Meagher had 15 digs.
