Volleyball: Redwood Valley drubs Renville County West

REDWOOD FALLS -- The Redwood Valley volleyball team connected on more attacks than Renville County West, leading to a 25-16, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18 non-conference win Monday.

REDWOOD FALLS -- The Redwood Valley volleyball team connected on more attacks than Renville County West, leading to a 25-16, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18 non-conference win Monday.

The Cardinals (9-4) committed 22 attack errors, while the Jaguars (7-5) had 38.

Abby MacHolda led the way for Redwood Valley with 16 kills in 31-of-36 attacks. Bailey Koster followed with 11 kills. Liz Smith had 39 assists and Jessica Fischer recorded 23 digs.

Sam Treml paced six RCW players who had at least six kills with eight. She also recorded 23 assists. Morgan Elliot and Erica Sinner added seven kills each and Sinner had three ace blocks. Trista Kleinhuizen, Whitney Fransen and Amber Jansen followed with six kills each. Emma Sharpe contributed 34 digs.

The Mustangs (9-6) used a balanced attack to get past HLWW (8-5).

Lilli Cole led the way with 11 kills, followed by Karlee Ilgen, Remi Werner and Ashley Kiecker with nine kills apiece. Werner had three ace blocks, Ilgen served two aces and Kiecker had 20 assists.
