MARSHALL -- The Willmar Cardinals won three of five matches this past weekend at the Marshall Volleyball Invitational.
The Cardinals (6-3) beat Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, Southwest Star Concept and Bismarck Century, while losing to Owatonna and Stillwater.
Hannah Smith had 37 kills and 11 ace serves for the Cardinals. Jena Thompson finished with 31 kills, Alex Lippert 17 and Lindsey Atchison 16. Jennie Mattison notched 51 assists and Addy Nelsen added 45. Karlee Johnson led in digs with 72.
Litchfield and Yellow Medicine East each went 2-3.
