Willmar outscored 17-3 in a pair of losses to North Iowa

LITCHFIELD — Jumping out to a 3-0 lead after a period of play, North Iowa picked up a 6-2 win over the Willmar WarHawks Saturday at the Litchfield Civic Center.

At the 4-minute, 5-second mark of the second period, Willmar’s Cameron Gee scored his first goal of the year while Parker Sunderland and Angelo Perry recorded their first assists of the season. Later in the period, Perry got in on the scoring with a power-play goal off assists from Jake Santarelli and Trent Sylvester.

Six different players scored goals for the Bulls. Matt Dahlseide led the offense with one goal and four assists, followed by a one-goal, three-assist effort from Cam Fagerlee.

The WarHawks will play at the Willmar Civic Center for the first time Friday against New Ulm.

With a seven-goal second period, North Iowa blew by Willmar for an 11-1 victory Friday, ending the WarHawks’ four-game win streak in the process.

Willmar’s lone goal came on the power play at the 8-minute, 16-mark thanks to Danny Klatt, who got assists from Brandon Holt and Caleb Brownell.

Cam Fagerlee capped off the night with a hat trick while Nick Bowlin had five points (one goal, four assists).
