WILLMAR - Ridgewater and Northland both won two competitive matches, but the visiting Pioneers from Thief River Falls gave the Warriors 30 points from five forfeits as Ridgewater collected a 39-6 win on Friday in a MCAC dual.
Both teams forfeited the opening 125-pound match before Ridgewater would win the next five matches - three by forfeit - to take a comfortable 27-0 lead.
Kyler Votava at 149 notched a technical fall and Travis Deegan followed with a 13-4 major decision at 157 for the Warriors, who would then capture three of the final five weights from Northland forfeits.
The Warriors have nearly a month off before hosting the Ridgewater Open on Jan. 9 starting at 9 a.m. Ridgewater coach Tom Gruhlke said there will be at least 10 schools competing.
