NEW LONDON -- New London-Spicer put up a 10-run inning on the way to beating Melrose 16-3 on Monday in West Central North Conference softball.

Megan Bergeson, who was 4-for-4, had two hits in the team's eight-hit fourth inning.

Allison Ruter drove in two runs in the inning, while Bergeson, Karli Wendlandt and Jenna Moritz drove in one each.

Moritz finished with three RBI and Lauren Bennewitz had two. Wendlandt added a triple.

In the circle, winning pitcher Jessica Rosendahl cruised through four shutout innings allowing one hit, walking none and fanning three. Allison Ruter finished.

New London-Spicer has two conference road games today, playing at St. Cloud Cathedral at 3 p.m., then traveling to Albany for a 6 p.m. game.
