SARTELL -- The Willmar volleyball team continued its run of quality matches, getting a 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 20-25, 15-13 Central Lakes Conference win over Sartell Thursday.
"Our goal was to start the match well and end the match well," said Willmar coach Terrin DeBoer.
That's exactly what the Cardinals (3-8, 6-12) accomplished, winning the first two games by a total of seven points, then getting the victory by two points in the fifth game.
Addy Nelsen had an all-around performance to lead Willmar. She had 10 kills and six ace blocks at the net and 19 assists running the offense.
"She's a captain and a leader and really stepped up tonight," DeBoer said.
