BRAINERD -- The Willmar Cardinals finished a sweep of the Brainerd Warriors on Tuesday with a 73-46 road win in a Central Lakes Conference girls basketball game.

Willmar won 49-35 at home on Dec. 21. At Brainerd, they tallied 40 points in the second-half alone.

Shantel Kelly with 18 points and Kayli Gimse put in 14 more in what coach Brad Atchison labeled the "best offensive'' showing so far.

Willmar shot 46 percent from the floor, including 8-of-18 from the arc.

"We were hitting on all cylinders with some nice transition baskets," said Atchison. "Sara Kallhoff had a nice floor game and Kayli was solid all-around, hitting the open threes and going strong to the boards."
