MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn has been named to the NBA All-Rookie second team.
Flynn averaged 13.5 points and 4.4 assists in his first season in Minnesota after being taken with the sixth overall draft pick. He started all 81 games he played.
Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis lauded the progress Flynn made throughout the season, saying he may have been the player who improved the most from beginning to end.
Three point guards taken after Flynn -- Golden State's Stephen Curry, Milwaukee's Brandon Jennings and New Orleans' Darren Collison all made the first team along with Sacramento's Tyreke Evans and Chicago forward Taj Gibson.
