COON RAPIDS -- The Ridgewater women's basketball team was a three-pointer away from a halftime tie with Anoka-Ramsey Saturday, but the Rams dismantled the Lady Warriors in the second half, handing Ridgewater an 86-52 loss.
The Lady Warriors (1-5, 8-12) were tied 34-34 at the end of the first half, but Anoka-Ramsey made a three-pointer at the buzzer to take the lead.
"It's probably the best half we've played all year," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl.
But it didn't carry over into the second half. The Rams (6-1, 18-4) outscored Ridgewater 49-18 in the last 20 minutes.
"They picked up the intensity in the second half and we got nervous with the ball," Ogdahl added.

The Lady Warriors committed 26 turnovers and 15 were in the second half.
Whitley Strei and Kelsey Guetter paced Ridgewater with 10 points each. Alison Mason added nine points and eight rebounds.
Marie Hanson scored 21 points to lead Anoka-Ramsey.
Ridgewater travels to Austin today to face Riverland.
