WILLMAR - Ridgewater rode a scorching first half into the Region 13A postseason with a 82-59 victory over Fox Valley on Wednesday.

 In the first half, the Warriors shot 48 percent from the three-point line and 42 percent overall and racked up 50 points to open up a 32-point halftime lead.

The Warriors’ Brooke Wuertz had 14 points and Amanda Schumacher had drained four 3-pointers at halftime.

“We just came out and had a lot more energy than they did,” Ridgewater head coach Carrie Ogdahl said. “Everybody shot extremely well. It was a good win, we needed that badly.”

Wuertz and Raeann Sorenson each finished with 20 points, and Sorenson grabbed 10 rebounds.

Courtney Kramer collected 12 points and 10 rebounds with Amanda Schumacher notching 15 points.

The Warriors open postseason play against No. 1-seed Anoka Ramsey at 6 p.m. Saturday at Coon Rapids.

On the other side of the bracket, No. 2-seed Minnesota West faces Western Wisconsin Tech 8 p.m. Saturday.
