BRAINERD -- Alii Holt had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Whitley Strei contributed 15 points as Ridgewater won its second straight game to start the season, topping Vermilion 59-41 on Saturday in the two-day Central Lakes Invite.
"We played well in stretches," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl. "We're still missing three players from the volleyball team. So we're not doing too bad so far."
Jena Thompson came close to a double-double for Ridgewater with 10 points and eight rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals.
The Lady Warriors outrebounded Vermilion 47-37.
Vermilion (0-2) was led by Reality Edmundson with 14 points.

Ridgewater plays the College of St. Benedict's JV team at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph.
