OLIVIA — Taking the mat for the first match of the BOLD triangular, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City was dominant on Friday.
Facing the host Warriors, the second-ranked (Class A) Falcons ended six matches in the first period en route to an 80-0 victory.
Results for the ACGC/Sibley East and BOLD/Sibley East matches were not available at press time.
Edwin Gonzalez opened the dual with a tech fall at 106 pounds to put the Falcons up 5-0. Cole Holien (120), Ramzee Molinaro (132), Brady Holien (138), Logan Straumann (160) and Jaxon Behm (170) all followed up with first-period pins. At 182, Terrell Renne eventually got the fall in the second period before Taylor Fester produced another first-period fall at 195.
A pair of state-ranked matches ended the meet and all resulted in ACGC victories. At 220, Logan Sherwood (ninth at 195) stuck Tim Peppel (seventh, 220) in 2 minutes, 59 seconds. Then in the final match of the night, the Falcons’ Tanner Berghuis (fourth, 285) battled with Brady Ridler (eighth, 285) for three periods, with Berghuis pulling away with a 9-3 decision.
ACGC resumes action Tuesday with a triangular featuring Sauk Centre/Melrose and top-ranked Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville. BOLD heads to Benson on Tuesday for a triangular.

At 138, Will Magaard added five points with a 18-3 tech fall late in the third period. Rick Jones had the Fighting Saints’ final victory at 182 pounds with a 10-3 decision.
