Construction workers place new asphalt on U.S. Highway 71 Friday morning near the Kandiyohi County Landfill. On Sept. 10, weather permitting, highway construction crews will begin chip sealing: a type of paving that mixes asphalt with pieces of gravel for longer life at lower cost.
