The Clara City Economic Development Authority has offered to finance the construction of a 500-seat auditorium for the MACCRAY School District if voters approve a single-campus proposal. The EDA would then lease the auditorium to the school district.

The former junior high building and vacant apartments in Clara City are under lock and key. Vandals caused extensive damage to the interior a couple of years ago.

Dave Rettman with DRC of Litchfield is at the controls as the old Renville County Hospital and Clinic is razed Tuesday in Olivia. The 55,000-square-foot structure will be removed and the site made an open lot for development by summer's end. Virtually all of the materials from the old building are being recycled, Rettman said.

While there are facility issues in Raymond and Maynard, Superintendent Brian Koslofsky told the Clara City Economic Development Authority that he does not anticipate state intervention at this point.
