He has been found incompetent to stand trial due to memory and other cognitive impairments that hinder his ability to consult with counsel or recall facts in the case.
Michael Lee LaFlex, 45, on Tuesday was not granted a conditional bail/bond option. If he were to post bail or bond, he must relinquish his passport.

Deja Denise Padilla, 19, of Montevideo, has been arrested in connection with the overdose death of an individual in Renville County in November 2021. The medical examiner said the toxic effects of methamphetamine and fentanyl were the cause of death. Padilla has been charged with murder in the third degree, for allegedly supplying the fentanyl that caused the individual’s death.
