A dream realized through the love of music and the Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra

Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra Associate Conductor Nickolai Podvin is only a few short months away from realizing a lifelong dream — studying conducting at a prestigious school in Europe. This September, he will be attending the Royal Academy of Music and Drama in London. It is a dream that might not have come true without the love and support from family, friends and the Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra.

Couple spreads love of puzzles throughout GlenOaks campus in New London

Kelly and Bob Rodenberg have put together more than 70 puzzles since they moved into an apartment in GlenOaks in New London. The two started doing puzzles intensely just this October, and it helps keep the couple mentally active along with providing opportunities to get to know their neighbors.

New London veterinarian and Boy Scout leader earns Silver Beaver award, named vet of the year

Veterinarian Allen Balay, longtime director of the Ridgewater College Veterinary Technology Program, has been humbled by two significant awards he has received this winter. First he was chosen for a Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts, then eight days later was named the Veterinarian of the Year by the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.
