MAHNOMEN, Minn. — The 22-year-old man accused of unleashing a hail of gunfire in the middle of a small northwest Minnesota town Sunday night, May 12, has been charged with attempted murder. Police said Chase William Gagnon shot a 9mm handgun 11 times in the middle of Mahnomen, and an initial news release from the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office said the gunfire was in random directions.
OGEMA, Minn. — When a woman and her two sons were found dead inside their home on the White Earth Indian Reservation on March 18, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called to investigate. More than one month later, the results of the autopsies have been released. Emma Laroque, 28, shot and killed 4-year-old Frederick York and 9-year-year old Shane Woods was strangled and suffered numerous sharp force injuries, according to the reports. Emma Laroque then shot and killed herself.
