MONTICELLO – Rachel Elizabeth Helland, 21, of New London reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries in a car crash at 12:04 p.m. Sunday on westbound I-94, one mile east of Monticello. According to the state patrol report, Helland was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
WILLMAR – Kandiyohi County Chief Deputy Greg Stehn has announced that he will run for county sheriff in the 2018 election. Sheriff Dan Hartog announced his retirement this week. Stehn has been chief deputy since 2014. He has worked in law enforcement for longer than 28 years, including 22 with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. He was previously a captain and a patrol sergeant and has experience in many facets of the department, according to a news release issued today.
